TAMAR OUT OF ST. LEGER Lord Astors Two Thousand Winner Goes Wrong in His Preparation. LONDON, England, September 7. Lord Astors colt Tamar has been withdrawn from the St. Leger by reason of a leg injury. Tamar won the Two Thousand Guineas last spring and at one time was favorite for the Derby. He finished second in the latter event to Captain Cuttle to the great disappointment of his owner and his many backers. Much sympathy is felt here for Lord Astor, as he is regarded as one of the best -sporting owners of the English turf. Tamar, a son of Tracery Hamoaze, will be retired to the stud, thus cutting short what promised to be a notable career on the turf.
