SAN DIEGO, Cal., November IS. Completing its long journey across the continent, the Coffroth thoroughbred special, which was dispatched from Pimlico, Md., on Sunday, arrived at the border late Thursday evening. Due to the fact of the tardiness of the train ; the forty thoroughbreds were not unloaded until Friday morning. W. T. Anderson, who was in charge of the train, reported the trip a fast one. A derailed oil car kept this shipment back a matter of eight hours. The various owners and trainers in charge ! of the horses which came in the shipment declared that not a single case of sickness ! developed among the thoroughbreds en route and that the horses shipped remarkably well considering the long journey. A large crowd of turf enthusiasts made the trip to the border this morning to watch 1 the horses disembark. The first string to set foot on Mexican soil was that owned . by Commander J. K. L. Ross.
