OLD HORSE WINS FORTUNE PARIS, France, October 27. By betting ,000 for a win on a five-year-old horse named Sydney at Le Tremblay Wednesday the lucky owner of the animal, M. A. Bezard, won 0,000. The race was only a small handicap and Sydney was the lowest weighted. Ridden by a promising young apprentice named Marie the horse came away at the distance and won by a neck. Just before the race Sydney was quoted at 100 to 1, but the bet laid by his owner forced the totalizator price down to about 70 to 1.
