THROUGH MOTOR ROUTES Washington Park Breeders Association Assured of Excellent Automobile Transportation. Alderman Gny Madderom of the ninth ward Is highly elated over the contemplated building of a race track at Riverdale, M. While the proposed track is located just outside the Chicago limits, nevertheless there is more than a friendly feeling between the village board of the Township of Riverdale and the leaders of the ninth ward. The New Washington Park Breeders Association, prior to securing an option on the land, called in Alderman Madderom and asked his co-operation in the way of securing through routes by automobile from Chicago to Riverdale, which would of course be absolutely essential and necessary to carry out the plans of the association. Alderman Madderom stated that arrangements had already been made by the South Park system to improve Michigan avenue south as far as 127th street, then one block east to Indiana avenue, which will be improved and made a boulevard directly to Riverdale, 138th street, giving a direct boulevard system to the proposed race track site. The alderman also stated with the Dixie and Lincoln Highways that connected with both. Western avenue and Halsted street, that the one million people within a radius of twenty-five miles would have perfect driving accommodations to Riverdale and to the proposed race track of the New Washington Park Breeders Association. The Illinois Central suburban service reaches the towns of South Chicago, Whiting, Irondale, .Kensington, Pullman, Harvey, West Pullman, Blue Island, Bolton, Roseland, Hegewisch, Hammond, West Hammond, East Chicago, Chicago Heights, Indiana Harbor, Gary, Michigan City, Homewood, Matteson and Flossmoor with regular daily scheduled trains, ali of which pass the race track on the main line. The alderman remarked when one railroad passes your door and carries 75,000 souls daily it is a big asset to commence with.
