MAC0MBER SALE DATE SET Brood Mares from Haras du Quesnay to Be Auctioned December 15 at Durlands. NEW YORK, N. Y., November 24. The forty marcs now on their way" to this country from A. K. Macombers French breeding establishment, the Haras du Quesnay, will be sold at public auction at Durlands Riding Academy the evening of December 15. All of the mares to be offered have been bred to the sires now standing at the Macomber French stud, among which may be mentioned Maintenon, Sea Sick, Torloisk, Hollister, Star Hawk, War Cloud, McKinley and Isard II. The mares to be offered include daughters of Sardanapale, Spearmrnt, Rabelais, Prestige, Maintenon, Buckwheat, Prince Palatine, Bruleur, Sea Sick, Phoenix, Royal Eagle, Rire aux Larmes, LOiseau Lyre, Negofol and other sires whose blood has made its mark on the thoroughbred strains here and abroad. There are several young mares in the consignment which may be turned to racing with excellent prospects of good return before they are sent to stud service.
