KARRICK BOOSTS HAVANA Back from Oriental Park Will WillNever Never Spend Another Winter Winterin in the North NEW YORK X Y January 31 William H Karrick says that never again will he re ¬ main in the snow country through another winter Mr Karrick is just back from an extended visit to Cuba and there never was a tourist more enthusiastic over the delight ¬ ful climate of the island It is easy for Karrick to be enthusiastic after his seige of sickness a year ago when for a time his life was despaired of He is back to robust health now and ready to take up his arduous duties of training the horses of W R Coe and the other owners by whom he is employed employedKenneth Kenneth Karrick is campaigning a string of the Coe horses at Oriental Park and his father said that up to this time he had won eleven races and had sold three of the horses for a total of 6750 6750When When the string was made up for young Karrick to campaign through the winter sea ¬ son it was agreed that all of the horses were for sale and he does not intend to bring any of them back home if he can find buyers buyersThe The string is made up of homebred horses from Mr Coes Wyoming breeding farm and fifteen were taken over Of these there are nine threeyearolds Master Hand now a foijryearold and five new twoyearolds One of the string The Gaff a threeyear old son of Jim Gaffney and Kaskaskia is owned by H K Knapps Oneck Stable This is the only one of the fifteen not owned by Mr Coe CoeJohn John Callahan and J Brunner have been doing the riding for young Karrick in Cuba and for the summer season the elder Karrick has obtained second call on Callahan first call being retained by William Martin Charles Fairbrother has been engaged by the stable as first jockey The work of mak ¬ ing ready the big string at Belmont Park will be under way before long and it was the call of that duty that made the elder Karrick cut short his visit to Cuba
