It is said that Sea Tales leg has filled Bome, which means that this good steeplechaser will probably be an absentee from the fall stakes in Maryland. J. W. Dayton was an arrival from Canada with his string. At the conclusion of the Bowie meeting they will go into winter quarters at their owners farm near Laurel. His horses, which race under the nom de course of the Belair Stable, have been here for several days. James W. McClelland was an arrival from Aqueduct The horses he is managing for the Xalapa Farm got in yesterday in care of trainer Roy Walden. C. P. Winfrey claimed Pastoral Swain from Prank Garrett after he was beaten yesterday. He has turned the horse over to Lou .Williams, who will handle him in the future. B. Harding, under whose colors Bucado raced as a two-year-old, became his owner again when he acquired the horse through the claiming route Friday. Bucado cost him ,300. E. F. Whitney, Gwyn Tompkins and W. Irvine motored over to the farm at Warren-ton, Va., after the races this afternoon. Messrs. Whitney and Irvine go to witness the trials of the yearlings that Mr. Whitney has at that place. Frank J. Fan-ells string, which includes the speedy Dimmcsdale, are here. Willie Knapp got in with them this morning. This means that jockey McAteo will not be forced to make the trip from Baltimore to New York every other day.
