PAPYRUSAND ZEV NEW YORK, N. Y., Oct. 6. Work watchers at Belmont Park Saturday morning had an opportunity to watch Zev and Papyrus being trained for the International race on October 20. After jogging and cantering Papyrus on the training track for some time trainer Basil Jarvis took the Epsom Derby winner and his stable-mate, Bar Gold, over to the main track, where they were galloped a mile. Bar Gold broke in front of his illustrious companion and the two went along at an easy gait for three-quarters. Then trainer Jarvis signaled the boy and Papyrus was let down to run the last quarter in 24, finishing without signs of distress. The Derby winners action at top speed was much better than in his previous slow canters. The mile was run in 1:48, but Papyrus was not urged until the last quarter. Zev went one and a quarter miles as follows: Quarter in 24, half in 49, three-quarters in 1 :15, mile in 1 :42 and the mile and a quarter in 2 :13. He was well under restraint all the way and finished eager to run. He was galloped in company with RigeL
