POISONED ARROW WINNER LONDON, England, Oct 13. Poisoned Arrow, carrying the colors of Major H. Cayzer, won the Duke of York Handicap easily from N. Barings Roman Bachelor at Kempton Park this afternoon. The weather was showery and the going extremely heavy. The crowd was far below the average. Fifteen started in the Duke of York Handicap. After going three-quarters Childs sent Poisoned Arrow into the lead and the colt went along to win easily by three lengths. The Cayzer starter carried 119 pounds. Roman Bachelor carried top weight of 124 pounds and he lasted to beat Captain F. Forresters Light Dragoon by half a length for second place. The latter saved third from "Verdict. Roman Bachelor was responsible for sharp interference suffered by Verdict right after the start The Baring veteran crossed sharply in front of Verdict and he was forced to take the latter up. The first two to finish were saddled by trainer Gooch. Poisoned Arrow is a four-year-old son of Spearmint and White Lie. He ran the mile and a quarter in 2 :10. The favorite was Soubriquet, which was never a serious contender.
