MACOMBERS CESAREWITCH American Owner Wins Famous Handicap with Prince Palatines Good Son Rose Prince. SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. LONDON, "England, Oct 17. An enormous crowd saw the colors of the American owner, A. K. Macomber, carried to victory by Rose Prince, a four-year-old son of Prince Palatine and Eglantine, in the historic Cesare-vitch Handicap, at two miles and a quarter, at Newmarket this afternoon. Prince Aga Khans Tercsina, a daughter of Tracery and Blue Tit, was second and Sir A. Baileys Ccyloncso third. The Macomber colt wa3 ridden by the American jockey George Archibald. He was prepared for tho race in France and little was known of his form beforo the race. Mr. Macomber was present and was overwhelmed with congratulations over "his great victory. Ho practically trained tho horse for tho raco himself, because of Murphys illness. Rose Prince has filled out wonderfully and ho Is now an unusually big colt His owner sent him out for a two-mlio trial In Franco October 5 and tho colts showing was ho impressive that Mr. Macomber knew ho had a good chance In tho Cesarowltcli. At tho end of two miles Tercsina seemed tho winner, but In tho kuit hundred yards Archibald brought Itoiio Prlnco up with a pressing challenge. Ho raced head and head with tho filly right to the finish and in the last stride won by a head. Tercsina held Ceyloneso safe by a length and a half. Following Is a summary of the raco : A. K.
