BEAU NASH, away well, was outrun for the first half, but gained steadily in the last eighth -while on the outside and, finishing gamely, got up to win in the; final stride. BEST BELOVED, away forwardly, finished fast and gamely on the inside. DIRECTOR set a fast pace, but tired in the last sixteenth. BATSMAN had no mishaps. SENATOR NORRIS was going fast at the end. Won easily; second and third driving. DAMASK was saved for the first turn of the field, then moved up steadily when, called on. in the last turn and his rider lost his stirrup irons at the fourteenth jump, but recovered quickly and was taking things easily at the end. HENRY DATTNER jumped well and raced forwardly all the way, but was swerving out in the final quarter. IRISH JIG ran a good race, but made a bad landing at the eleventh jump. HAPPY CHANCES lead for the first turn, but quit badly when put to a drive. GRAYLETTH caught the other horses tiring and passed them. Scratched 74369 Grouch, 139; 74211 Coplgardie, 143. THE HEATHER was knocked back at the start and finished fast and gamely. MARY MAXIM set a good pace to the stretch and tired, but finished gamely. HIGH .GEARr closed up. much ground from a slow beginning. RUPEE closed a gap. FLEER quit badly after running a gcod half. TIME EXPOSURE showed the most speed and set a fast pace, but tired in the deciding drive. HUSKY began slowly, but worked his way up on the inside and was going fast at the end.
