INTERNATIONAL RACE I IN FRANCE. NEW YORK, N. Y., Nov. 13. It was learned today that an effort is being made to bring about a meeting in a special international race to be run at -Longchamps course, at Paris, May 3, 1924, of the best English and American horses foaled in 1920. with the French crack Epinard. An official request has been sent to the American and English Jockey Clubs by the French Societe dEncour-agement asking that the American and British sportsmen aid in the promotion of a match race in which America, England and France might have a representative. The race is being promoted by the Societe dEncouragement and a Paris newspaper under the auspices of the Jockey Club of France. The race is planned as the feature of a carnival for the benefit of the wounded French war veterans. It is planned to add a stake of 500,000 francs to the contest, which will.be. at a. mile and a quarter. The horses will carry 126 pounds. Zev, In Memoriam and other good, three-year-olds are eligible for such a race. The Jockey Club will select the American contestant.
