BENJAMIN BLOCKS HORSES Reach Fair Grounds at New Orleans--Xalapa Farm Makes Application for Stable Room. NEW ORLEANS. La.; Nov. 13. Eight thoroughbreds of the Benjamin Block Stable arrived at the Fair Grounds today after a four-day trip from New York. Aspiration for which Block paid, ?27,500 is the star of tho group. The others are, Thorndale, Broomflax, Ticker, Little Alfred, Lester Doctor, and two juveniles. This is the first time that the Block colors have been seen on a New Orleans track. Fred Burlew is in charge of the horses. E. T. Simms, millionaire oil operator who owns the Xalapa Farm Stable, has made application for stable room at the Fair Grounds. Jim McClelland will have charge of the stables racers. The Daniels stable, in charge of A. J. Blakely is already at the Fair Grounds. Blanc Seing, winner of several handicaps at Tijuana last Spring, Sue Donovan, crack 2-year-old filly, Olynthus, Costigan, Romany and Beverwicb are among the Daniels racers. Clockers already here are giving considerable attention to O. Henry, a three-year-old. O. Henry is by Discontent, a son of Star Shoot and his dam is Ida B., by High Highness. The Jefferson Parish Fair Association in charge of the meeting which begins on Thanksgiving Day, will attempt a revision of the jockeys valet system now prevailing. Discussion of the plan will be gone into in detail upon the arrival of Jack Campbell, racing secretary.
