CASE OF JOCKEY H. GRAY Jndge Murphy Withdraws Ruling Against the Rider, but With Reservations. Joseph A. Murphy yesterday sent the following letter to the secretaries of the various turf governing bodies : "This is notice that I have withdrawn the ruling denying jockey Harry Gray all privileges, including admission to the grounds of the Ohio State Jockey Club. There is unfortunately no western governing body to take jurisdiction over this case. This situation we hope to remedy shortly. The Ohio State Jockey Club is to some extent a proprietary institution and I am unwilling to throw the responsibility of the case on it. My associate In the stand, Fred Gerhardy, is dead, and, with the political and other insistency that is being brought, I am unwilling to take further personal jurisdiction over this case. "However, this jockey has twice prostituted his license, once under the jurisdiction of the Canadian Racing Associations and again at Cleveland, and I am reserving the right to vote against license to him at tracks that are or may hereafter be under my jurisdiction." 1
