KEMPTON PARK READY TOGO Will Open on May 17 if Mount Royal Has Not Taken That Date for Racing. MONTREAL. Que., May 5.— While the program for the opening of the racing season In Montreal Is not definitely decided as between Mount Boyal and the Kempton course. the date of the opening is fixed for May 17. Ono other of the local independent tracks announced its dates today, Manager Leo Pandurand of Pelorimier Park laying claim to June 28 — July 5 for that course. The opening at Mount Itoyal is by no means definitely set for May IT, but if the mile track does not open on that da.e, Kemp-ton Park is all ready to go. There are about eighty horses now stabled here, fit to race, including the strings owned by Pat Hinphy, J. B. Baillargeon, who has the speedy Warehouseman, winner of last years Nursery renewal ; Wade Brown, J. Kveres*. Willie Walsh. Pat Pelaney, J. riunkett. A. G. l uniap. P. Hazzas. N. K. Moody, George Foisy, C. Bobbillard, Fred Boy. J. Cannon, O. Tuggle, T. Miller. B. J. Mat-Donald, B. Stralendor, H. W. Barnes, the latter with eight, including Fayellc. four-time winner at Tijuana; J. S. McPaniel. Walter Young, J. 10. Oakbright, James Brill and others. Local owners were today in receipt of word from Shrewsbury asking advice about the shipment of sixteen horses from there and many others are ready to send their strings from Columbus. An announcement was made today in connection with officials. It was stated that Frank Mutiro would be racing secretary at Kempton. if that track opened May IT. while Wash Norvell will be racing secretary and presiding judge at Delorimier Park. An entire new board of officials will be in the Stand at both these tracks.
