Won handily; second and third driving. BOLIVAR BOND, lucky in escaping interference, and finishing gamely, closed a gap and, outstaying SPECIAL, won. The latter set a fast early pace and raced gamely all the way. MODESTA ran well, but was tiring in the last sixteenth and just lasted to save third place.
