The greatest spring meeting in the history » of Churchill Downs was held from May 10 to 3 May 31 and during the nineteen days of I racing the Kentucky Jockey Club distributed 1 in stakes and prizes the munificent sum of 1 f 03,418 in stakes and purses, the daily average " money distribution amounting to 5. 967. Her total winnings amounted 1 to $.r4.27r . Jallaher Bros, met with marked 1 success, the horses carrying their silks earning - 1,135. E. B. McLean fared well 1 with 3.r.69 to his credit, while Williams s Bros, won seven races and 2,950. J. N. Camden received 1,964 and G. A. Cochran 1 .1 f.O.
