I SARATOGA TURF NOTES SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., Aug. 12. The condition books for six days, beginning Monday, August 18, were. distributed today. William A. Porter and W. P. OMeara were f arrivals from Canada to attend the Laurel Park Companys yearling sale. Owing to the rain and the changed track conditions the stewards waived the scratch rule, with the result that the program was riddled. Entry blanks for the Chicago Special, at one mile and three-sixteenths, for a purse of 5,000, were distributed today. William Myers came on from the West to solicit nominations. Edward Arlington has .purchased from Gif-ford A. Cochran, Morganatic by His Majesty Mary Odile, and Adrianople. They will be trained by Kimball Patterson. It was announced today that the Man o War filly, sold in the Hancock sale for the account of the American Remount Association to Mrs. F. A. Clark, was bought for Harry F. Sinclair, and is destined to bear the silks of the Rancocas Stable. Charles F. Hill of the Thoroughbred Sales Company has announced an auction of horses in training, to be conducted in the paddock at Saratoga August 19. The principal consignor to the sale is Victor Vivadou, owner of the Riviera Stable. Some days ago Mr. Vivadou threatened to disperse his stable and now it appears a certainty that he is to leave the turf. George Bain will officiate as auctioner at the sale. I j i I !
