RACING AT WOODBINE PARK Ontario Jockey Clubs Autumn Meeting Begins Today. Hallucination and Other Stars to Meet In I 0,000 Toronto Autumn Cup, Inaugural Feature. : 1 TORONTO, Ont, Sept 23 . Cariadiari racing at its best will be on display at Woodbine Park for seven days beginning Wednesday. The meeting is under the auspices of tho Ontario Jockey Club and is the last of the 1924 schedule of the Canadian -Racing Association. Tracks under- the jurisdiction of the latter body have had a lean year generally but it is expected that the Woodbine meeting will show a decided improvement. From . every standpoint the meeting should be a brilliant one. The stake array is imposing and the horses on hand are such as to insure well filled fields for the fixtures as well as for the overnight contests. Most important of the races on the weeks Bchedule-from a monetary point of view is the Toronto Autumn Cup. This 0,000 race will feature the opening program. It is a contest at a mile and a quarter .for three-, year-plds and over. It attracted an overnight list of Jentries numbering eleven. Included among the probable starters is Hallucination, the best Canadian-bred of recent years. This four-year-old .son of Fitzwil-liam Pleasant Dreams is asked to pack top weight of 123 pounds, but- will -be stoutly -supported to win in spite of the weight Wheat-stick Avill be coupled with Hallucination as the J. K. L. Rcss entry. Others of promise in the entries are Cherry Pie, King Solomons Seal, Bonnie Omar, Redstone, Flag of Truce and Horologe. Next in importance to the Toronto Autumn Cup on the opening jday. program, is. the ,000 added Coventry Steeplechase Handicap, in which eight good -jumpers are carded to compete over the two-mile, course.-...... The remainder of the program is in keeping with the high standard of this old turf organization and the prospects are that the big crowd expected tomorrow will be entertained with some sparkling sport Woodbine Park, always one of the most beautiful race courses, not only in Canada but comparing favorable with the best in the United States, never looked prettier than it does in its autumnal garb, spic and span in all .appointments. . The weather man promises sunshine and balmy breezes and the track is in fine condition. The first race will start at 2 p. m.
