MISS MAZIE was away well and saved close up to the last eighth, then wore COLORED BOY down and, passing him in the last fifty yards, won going away. COLORED BOY had no chance to begin properly and was away poorly, but was rushed into a contending position in the first quarter and raced into the lead, but was in the deepest going in the last eighth and tired. PEQUOT had much the best of the start, but tired after leading for three-quarters. RANDEL ran well. BLUE NOSE was beaten off after going the first quarter and was eased up in the last half mile. PINDAR PEEL ran a good race but began tiring in the last eighth. MIDWESTERN came fast through the stretch and got up jn the last stride for third place.
