MODESTA began somewhat slowly, but made up ground and came fast through the stretch. BILLY WELCH followed the winner closely to the stretch, but tired. INTAKE ran well to the last eighth. BOOT BLACK set a fast pace to well into the stretch where he tired, but finished resolutely. MISS FORTUNE was badly outpaced in the early racing, but finished fast and resolutely. ANN M. was far back in the early racing, but came fast in the stretch drive and barely failed to get up. MISS MISCHIEF finished gamely after setting a fast pace all the way. FABER began slowly and was taken to the outside in the stretch turn, but finished fast and barely failed to get up. LOUISE WAGNER closed a big gap and finished fast and gamely. DOUBLE T. quit after racing prominently for a half mile. IMPOSSIBLE closed a big gap in the stretch. GOLDEN PINE also made up much ground. The latter was badly outpaced to the stretcli where he came fast and would have won in another twenty yards. LITTLE ANN closed an immense gap and finished fast. ARCHIE ALEXANDER finished gamely after racing prominently for a mile. JACK FROST set the early pace, but quit in the stretch drive. LITTLE ED closed a big gap.
