Won easily, second and third driving. JUPITER began slowly, but moved up fast and steadily and, coming with a rush in the stretch took the lead and was going away through the last sixteenth. JOHN Q. KELLY began well and set a fast pace, but began tiring in the last sixteenth. RUBIEN raced prominently for the entire way and finished gamely, but tiring. SIR PETER, away well and showing a good order of pneed, raced into the lead in the first quarter and, holding it well, won easing hp. DOWN TOWN set the early pace and raced forwardly to the end. BROADWAY JONES was gaining steadily in the stretch. MAMOUD had to overcome some interference and closed a gap. SUN HATHOR began slowly and suffered much from interference when a jam came in the first quarter. SPANDOR fell in the first quarter. EL MORO was badly cut down in the mix-up in the first quarter. Won driving; second and third the same. ANNIE LYLE began fast and, racing forwardly from the start, took the lead on the backstretch and, holding it gamely in the stretch, just lasted to win. JOHNNY JEWELL ran a good race and came fast through the last quarter. SNOW MAIDEN, much the best, was kept under hard restraint in the early race, but was weakly ridden in the stretch and would have won with a stronger rider. CLIMAX ran well. OUR OPTION finished fast. LEXINGTON MAID closed a big gap.
