HRSE ASSOCIATION MEETS Representatives of Winter Tracks Make Known Their Plans and Purse Offerings. LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 30. The semi-annual meeting of the Thoroughbred Horse Association, preceded by a banquet at tho Seelbach Hotel last night, was an enthusiastic and well attended one. lost of the tracks that will operate during tho winter had representatives on hand to unfold to the horsemen plans of their repective associations. W. H. Shelley, who will serve as racing secretary at Havana, disclosed the aims of his association ; J. S. Wallace, who will serve at Miami, made known his appointment, but was unable to give any definite data with regard to purse plans of the association, but assured the horsemen that a liberal policy would prevail. E. R. Bradley, representing the Fair Grounds at New Orleans made known the ambitious plans of that association and assured the horsemen that they would be treated better than ever in the way of purse ancL stake offerings. He also announced a 5,000 stake, to be run on February 7. It will be a handicap for three-year-olds and over at a mile and a sixteenthi He also stated that arrangements were under way to enclose the grandstand in glass and install steam heat in the structure. He intends to go to New Orleans on November 10 to confer with his associates with regards to other arrangements for the meeting. Jefferson Park made known its plans through its representative and the announcement of its seven race policy like the Fair Grounds for a greatly increased purse offering was enthusiastically received. Tijuana had no representative at the meeting and its policy was not defined to the horsemen present. A resolution of regret over the death of Gen. W. B. Haldeman was spread on the minutes and president Bradley requested that the members stand in silent meditation .for a minute out of respect to the dead friend of racing.
