LAUREL PARK NOTES LAUREL, Md., Oct 30. Jack Atkin departed for New York to buy a couple of horses. George Miller will ship a division of Mrs. L. A. Livingstons stable to Miami about January 1. Clyde Freeman shipped to New Orleans Tuesday morning. The horses of Owen Pons went in the same car. Dr. Carroll Mitchell went to Timonium to fire Hard Guess and two, yearlings for J. Sorio. The stewards fined M. Hirsch 0 for using improper colors upon one of L. Waterburys starters. The stewards fined W. C. Trovar 0 for the late arrival of Triumph in the paddock yesterday. J. II. Stotter returned from New Tork where he bought Faenza in Tuesdays auction. The horse will be shipped to Pimlico. Acting for L. Waterbury, Max Hirsch bought Young Martin from J. ID. Madden. The juvenile has been shipped to Pimlico. In claiming Ten Sixty from J. P. Polk a few days ago, W. G. Wilson began the accumulation of a stable to campaign at Miami this winter. G. Primrose returned from New York and reported that the Joaquin and Lilane Stables had been added to the list to be raced at Tijuana during the winter. Jim Arthur bought from the Lewis Garth estate three yearlings. Two are fillies and one a colt The fillies are by Berilldon-Queen Bashti and by Theo Cook-Everdene. The colt is by Theo Cook-Rollicking Airs. J. P. Smith shipped Sunny Man to Pimlico. The colt is W. S. Kilmers Maryland Futurity candidate. J. Wallace will return from Kentucky to ride for the Kilmer stable at Pimlico. J. Kermath shipped to Pimlico. In his string is the Raritan Stables Rip, one of the leading candidates for the Elkridge Steeplechase at the Baltimoro course. Overtures have been made for a match race between E. Josiahs Ashburton and Frosty Boy, which Joe Rowan is training for F. Swenke. S. Sneidemann will ride Frosty Boy. E. Thomas will depart Sunday for Tijuana with A. Clausner, the Seagram stable apprentice. On leaving he will turn over to Dan Mc-Taggart the book of J. McTaguc. McTaggart also is making engagements for E. Barnes and J. McTaggart Entries for the Madison Handicap for three-year-olds and over at one mile and seventy yards, to be run at Pimlico, will be accepted here tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 31, up to 11 a. m. Entries to races for the first day at Pimlico will ulso be taken here Saturday morning. Vincent Powers will be a busy trainer from now until election day. On Friday night he will leave for New York to saddle Pirate Gold, Knight of Greenane, Jolly Roger and Al Fresco for the Greentree Stable at the opening of the United Hunts meetings. On Monday he will be at Pimlico to give instructions to the stable rider in the Manly Memorial and on Tuesday he will return to Belmont Park for the second day of the Hunts meeting. .
