NO TAX REVISION YET Nothing Definitely Decided as to Race Track in Province of Ontario. TORONTO. Ont, Nov. 4. Provincial treasurer W. IT. Price expressed the opinion today that any announcement regarding a revision of taxation on the race tracks of the province was founded upon supposition rather than fact "There has been no decision as yet, -what we shall do in this connection," Mr. Price said. "The figures which we announced for the mile and half-mile tracks for the last season showed as much betting done on the half-mile tracks as on the larger ones. You know the mile tracks now pay ,500 and the half milers ,500. Originally these taxes-were set at 0,000 and ,000 a day, respectively, but were reduced on application of the owners to the present figures. Originally they bore a reasonable relation to one another, but the cutting .of .,500 off each has spoiled that. Some one, on making an analysis of the last seasons results, has decided that as we are after revenue that can be extracted without hurting anyone very much, the wish would be the father to some revision of these tax rates. If anything is done, it will be announced when the budget is brought down." Mr. Price created the impression that some action such as that suggested would be taken by the Ontario parliament, but stated definitely that he was uninformed of any prospective dominion legislation affecting the race tracks.
