April 7.— Tlie Enquirer Handicap, one of the big fixtures decided every year at the Iatonia summer meeting, will not lack for a high-class field to measure strides in the 1925 renewal of the stake. Nominations announced by officials of the Kentucky Jockey Club show that ninety-nine are eligible. Included in the list is practically every Kentucky and Iatonia Derby colt, as well as the cream of the Western division of handicap horses. Among the four-year-olds of prominence named are Black Gold, winner of the Golden Jubilee running of the Kentukcy Derby last spring: at Churchill Downs, Chilhowee and Beau Butler, the latter two colts finishing second and third, respectively. In addition to tha *5,000 added by the Kentucky Jockey Club for the fixture, which is at a mile and one-sixteenth, Mr. E. B. McLean, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, for which publication the race is named, will present the owner of the successful thoroughbred with a handsome silver trophy. The 1925 running will be the eighth. Among Its list of winners are Boniface, Courtship, Drastic, Marjorie Hynes, Distinction, Cherry Tree and Actuary, the latter having defeated Alice Blue Gown and Audacious last season. The conditions and entries for the race follow : BNQIIRER nAN DIC AP— ,000 added, for three -year-olds and upward. By subscription of 0 each; 00 additional to start: ,000 added, of which 00 to second. 00 to third, fourth to save andtake. Weights five days before the race. Winners of other than a claiming or selling purse after publication of weights, three pounds extra. Acceptances to be named 1 through the entry box the day before the I race at usual time of closing.
