BOWIE TRACK NOTES BOWIE, Md., April 7. R. T. Wilsons Pixola was excused from starting in the fourth race due to a fit of coughing. Jockey S. Hebert was forced to cancel his engagements for the afternoon when he developed sudden illness in the jockeys room. C. A. Coyles Rama was also excused by the stewards on trainer Oaignards plea that the horse was not in condition to do his best. R. Friend, who is schooling two-year-olds at Havre de Jrace. reports that twenty-two youngsters answered the first call for lessons on Monday. W. R. Padgetts Mrytle Belle came out of her race yesterday cut about the front legs which she suffered while at the post from Monday Morning. Eddie Brennan came over to take care of the final closing of the Preakness and other stakes which are to be run at the Pimlico spring meeting. He reports that the stakes closed with an exceptionally large entry list. Steward Paul Miles has received an anonymous letter that interested him not a little and he announced today that he would be glad to give the writer a personal interview and treat any of his disclosures in confidence. He hopes that this invitation will bring about an early interview. . «
