FIRST DISQUALIFICATION • Cottager Set Back After Finishing Second in Huntington Race. ♦ Dentarla Victorious In Main Contest In Which Rebuke Pulls Up Lame — Double for W. M. Cain. HUNTINGTON. "W. Va., April 16— The running of the initial race today resulted in the first disqualification of the meeting. My Biddy showed the way to the stretch where she was joined by Salvage and Cottager. The trio hooked up in a driving finish through the final eighth. During the last sixteenth Cottager bore in toward the others and Salvage was crowded back, all but going down. Cottager was promptly disqualified, after finishing second a short head behind My Biddy. After being a distant follower during the early stages H. L, Munsons Dentaria finished fast in the stretch and scored a handy victory in the Barboursville Purse, sixth and feature race, at the Tri State Fair course this afternoon. Lorena Marcellia, after disposing of Dorothy Buckner, the early pacemaker, entering the stretch, tired near the end, but held The Falconer safe for second place. The Falconer saved ground on the turn for home, but tired near the end after moving up into a contending position in the stretch. Rt„uke was never really dangerous and pulled up lame. Countess Claridge, an outsider, provided a surprise when she led by a rather comfortable margin throughout in the second race. At the end she was tiring and doing her best to retain her advantage. Sam Smith outgamed Busy Bob for the place. After being outpaced during the early stages, The Almoner drew away to an easy victory during the stretch run in the third race. Rob, from a slow beginning, came from far back to beat The Girl for second place. The latter suffered from early interference and tired near the end. Floy Lillie made every post a winning one in the fourth, which marked a double for W. M. Cain and the third consecutive victory during this meeting for the filly. The winner had to be hustled along in the closing stages to stall off Panorel. Sandpile was third. Felicitous, the favorite, was away poorly and was never prominent Lanoil was rated along in second position to the stretch in the fifth, but gained steadily during the run home and easily disposed of his opposition near the end. Red Legs set a fast early pace, but was hard pressed : in the closing stages to save second from Huonec. At no stage of the concluding dash did Clansman appear in serious trouble, leading by a safe margin throughout. Comme Ci as easily held the others safe in the stretch. Christie Holters came from the rear during the run home to get third.
