Widener, president of the Westchester Racing Association, has obtained the signature of jockey Earl Sande to a contract for the 1925 racing season. The Widener stable, which is being trained by G. H. Keene, is small but powerful, Among the Widener horses is the star longdistance runner, Altawood. The Philadelphia sportsman made an offer to the former Rancocas rider as soon as he learned of the latters release from his contract with the Sinclair establishment The offer was accepted Thursday. The fact that the Widener stable is small gives Sande an opportunity to accept far more outside mounts than he could while riding for Rancocas. The terms of the contract were not made public.
