Hildebrand may be one of the good riders, but after his exhibition on the two year old Just in the Ozone Stakes at Aqueduct today he had better wake up. He had the best horse, but in the final strides he let up on the youngster and Baird on Anodyne, coming en the inside with a rush, got up in time to win by a neck. BuLrd came in for a round of applause when he came back to the scales. He is fast winning his way into the publics graces. Leonard Joe Hayman failed to make good in his first eastern stake. He was backed as if the race was already over, but he found that the pace was too much and was outrun from start to finish.
