DAN ARVI set the pace to the last eighth and tired. EVAI.YN HARKICAN raced gamely, but also tired in the stretch drive. None of the others reached prominent positions. HARRY MAXIM was far back to the last turn, from where he came with a rush on the inside and, slipping through a small opening, out finished BRIMSTONE in a hard drive. The latter set a good pace, stayed well and finished gamely. SCATTER SHOT ran well and was ridden wide on all the turns, losing many lengths. MISS PROSPERITY moved up after leaving the bark-stretch and made a game but futile effort to overhaul ALAMOUR. JAY ROBERTS raced prominently throughout. JOE PATTON had no mishaps. THISTLEWOOD sprinted into a good lead immediately and. setting a swift pace, was never seriously menaced until in the final fifty yards, where she began to tire RIGHT ON TIME raced in closest pursuit, but could not gain until right at the end. No serious effort was made with SWING-ALONG until inside the last eighth, where he came with a sensational rush and would have won in a few more strides. DOMINIQUE ran well, bnt tired near the end. MISS NANTURA made up much ground on the outside. BOBBY ALLEN and RUBY suffered from frequent bumpings and HARRIGANS HEIR was shut off. PAULA SHAY loomed up after entering the stretch, then tired. THE CHEETAH was through early.
