] I I I Twenty Years Ago Today Chief Turf Events of April 21, 1905 Racing at Aqueduct, Pimlico, Nashville, San I Francisco, Union Park and Fair Grounds at . St. Louis. Jockey Bullman has been instructed to accept . no more mounts at Oakland. The improvement in the running of Abe Meyer, Father ■ Catchem and Expedient occasioned the . order. Five favorites were bowled over at Aqueduct this afternoon, but it did not help the ; layers materially, since the winners were well j backed, particularly Lipton, and Phyllis A. • Lipton was backed as a good thing by a select I few. Terry McGovern, the pugilist, has been requested . to remain out of the betting rings at ■ the New York tracks. He is regarded as irresponsible - for his actions and has lately created ■ much confusion by claiming wagers on winning horses which layers claim he did not make. Strong efforts are being made from Kansas City to have judge Joseph A. Murphy preside during the meeting at Elm Ridge. Nothing definite has been decided, but judge Murphy will visit Kansas City Saturday night to consult with Messrs. Corrigan and Gardner. If the arrangement can be perfected, Francis Trevelyan will serve as presiding steward.
