GOOD SPORT AT OMAHA Hyanpom and Ruddy Provide Real Turf Battle, Former Winning by the Smallest of Margins. OMAJIA, Neb., June 4.— Although the program at Ak-Sar-Ben today was featureless it, nevertheless, provided some interesting racing. This was especially the case in tho sixth, which resulted in a great turf battle between the favorite, Hyanpom, and Ruddy. This was a mile and a sixteenth dash and soon after the start .Hyanpom dropped out of it and, on the back stretch, his task appeared hopeless, so far back was he racing. Rounding the last turn jockey "Golden Spurs" McHugh made his move and a sixteenth out he challenged Ruddy. This horse, with Klston in the saddle, had something left and the two hooked up in a finish that drew the spectators to their feet in a frenzy of excitement. To the end those two raced as a team but, in the very last stride, Hyanpom took the verdict of the judges by the narrowest of margirs. The track today, as a result of the storm of yesterday, was heavy and holding and slow time was made in the various races. Jockey G. Young is an arrival from Toronto. He comes here to ride free lance. Trainer H. W. Hoag, of the Mira Monte Stock Farm, reports that the two-year-olds Slumber Song, Rob Roy and Minon have been sold to G. Goff of San Francisco.
