| MARYLAND TURF NOTES HAVRE DE GRACE, Md., April 16. Jockey Eddie Barnes reported to his agent, Frank Capra, this afternoon, ready to accept mounts. Barnes has been at the Erdenheim Kami, near Philadelphia, assisting trainer Jack Joyner in petting the G. R. Widener racers into condition for the opening of the Metropolitan racing season. He reports that the youngsters at the farm are extra good lookers. Miller Henderson is as busy as a bee at Pimlico these mornings. Twenty-three of the Audley Farm racers were shipped from the farm in Virginia to Pimlico, where they were turned over to Henderson, who will campaign them on New York tracks this year. There are five old horses in the band, the remainder being two-year-olds. Edward S. Weller schooled twenty two-year-olds at Pimlico this morning, while Bob Freund, starter Miltons other assistant, had thirty two-year-olds and forty older horses at the barrier at Havre de Grace. It. J. McKeever was an arrival from Or-* lando. He shipped Overfire, Bucko and Sword to Havre de Grace and the latter died after being unloaded. The other eight horses in the stable were sent to the Fair-mount track, near St. Louis. James Arthur reports the arrival, at his farm in the Long Green Valley back of Pimlico, a colt by Iron Duke — Buzz Around and a filly by Iron Duke — Water Lady. The latter has a yearling at the farm, by Meridian. Several other mares on the place are due to foal in the next few weeks. A carload of horses got in from Orlando this morning. Included in the shipment were those owned by W. Shewbridge, O. Alexandra and E. Alford. There are still fifty horses at Orlando and 100 at Tampa awaiting the arrival of cars. Maj. Arthur J. OKeefe, of New Orleans, with Benjamin T. Waldo, general counsel ; G. R. Deano, president, and Peter EL Muntz, secretary of the New Orleans Revee Board, were visitors of the day. James Ross received catalogs of the Williams sale which were forwarded here by William Tracey. They were distributed among the horsemen. Jockey V. Vrallis, while cooling out a two-year-old of the Walter M. Jeffords string at Iimlico this morning, was kicked and had his hip injured. This necessitated the cancelling of his mounts for the day. Five claims were deposited in the box for Postman and two for Roxana in the sixth race. In the drawing W. Fenwick secured Itoxana for ,750 and G. W. Foreman got Postman for ,000. H. O. Red well took Plain Dealer out of the fifth race for ,000.
