FOR THE FAIRMOUNT DERBY I Bagenbaggage and Boot to Boot Arrive at Collinsville for Big Race of Next Saturday. COLLINSVILLE. 111., .Tune 11.— Bagenbag-gae and Boot to Boot, that have made racing history this year by finishing first and second in the Louisiana Derby and the I.atonia, and are outstanding favorites to add to their success next Saturday in the Fairmount Derby, arrived in good shape this, morning from Latoniain charge of their tr.iiner, William Hurley. The Bradley three-year-old cracks attracted a critical gallery of horsemen and they passed satisfactory muster. Trainer William Hurley, and for that matter most of the astute owners and trainers here, feel sanguine that the pair of colts will duplicate their previous Derby-running and again finish first and second. Some are inclined to believe that Boot to Boot will lead his stablemate home Saturday. Despite two Derby successes already credited to Bagenbaggage. he gets a five pound scale allowance for not having won a three-year-old race of 5,000 net value. His aggregate winnings for this year total nearly double this amount. Boot to Boot under the conditions will only carry US pounds, three pounds less than his stable companion. As in former Derby starts, jockey E. Blind will have the mount on Bagenbaggeg and "Goldie" Johnson will be astride Boot to Boot. The riders are under contract to the Idle Hour Stock Farm Stable. Both colts were given a mile and a quarter workout Saturday over the Latonia track but were not called on for great speed. Their training over this track will be steady, culminating with a final ambitious mile and a quarter trial next Thursday. That will conclude their preparation for their race next Saturday. With th coming of the Bradley cracks and the expected arrival late tonight of Bock-man from New York, the Fairmount Derby takes on a more important aspect. The Sagamore Stables representative, which performed impressively in the Belmont Stakes Saturday, was shipped Sunday, according to advices received here. There is also a possibility of J. E. Widen-ers Haste coming to start in the race. Trainer G. H. Keene advised general manager C. Bruce Head some time ago that his ■ coming would be contingent on his showing : in the Belmont. He finished third in that race. If he starts, jockey Sande will be his pilot.
