| FORT ERIE TURF NOTES FORT ERIE, Ont, June O. Jockey W. Smith severed his conntc tio:is with the W. J. Ziegler stable of New York and arrived here this morning to ride as a free lance. He had his first mount when he was astride Herkert in the fourth race. Jockey R. Romanelli cancelled all his mounts today, it being reported that he received a belated message from New York advising him of the serious sickness of his sister. Condition books for the coming meeting at Dorval were distributed among the horsemen here today and met with their instant approval. Horsemen who contemplate shipping to the Windsor Jockey Club course have been notified to make stall reservations to either David S. Gillies or Charles Campeau at the racing secretarys office here.
