CENTIMETER EASILY BEST Shows Old Time Speed in Omahas Main Race — Double Victory for Jones Stock Farm Stable. OMAHA, Neb., June 21.— The World-Herald Claiming Purse and the Derby Preliminary Purse, were the best races on the Ak-Sar-BerJ program this afternoon. -The former was ■ three-quarters dash for three-year-olds and over, while the latter was for three-year-olds at one mile. Centimeter was easily the best horse in the first named race. He had all his old time speed and dashing to the fore almort immediately opened up a good lead which he easily held to the finish. Delectable tried in vain to catch him but finished second, while Nose Dive held the others safe. The Jones Stock Farm won its second purse of the afternoon when Dolly Seth made a show of her opponents in -the Derby Preliminary Purse. The daughter of Seth quickly dashed to the front and opened up a two-Ient;ths lead. Turning for home she increased it and at the finish was five lengths in advance of Lord Julian. Dolly could have run much faster had she had stiffer opposition M Ijaidley had a snug hold on her all the way. This toy rode both the Jones winners. The opening race was a dash which was framed for the cheaper grade of horses and it was won by Wikiup Papoose which raced in the first flight all the way and outgamed his rivals in the final drive. Kirkwood was second and May P.. third. Printer T. led all the way in the second race and held on to win by a nose. He paid ;i.OO in the mutuels. Govnor finished second and Attoo third. Winning Bird was a short priced favorite in this contest but quit badly after racing in a prominent position to the stretch. He was claimed by J. M. Brady for 00. Ben Jones star two-year-olds. Sergeant Seth and Colonel Seth, ran first and second ii the juvenile dash which came third on the program. Colonel Seth showed the way in the early stages and killed off Marjory Seth and Edward S. which had attempted to keep pace with him, but could not withstand the challenge of his stable companion which was a keen horse today. Palolo raced into third place when the others tired. *
