| AQUEDUCT TURF NOTES NEW YORK. X. Y.. June 21. Jockey "W. Smith has resigned as contract rider for the Y. Ziegler, Jr. stable and left for Fort Erie, where he will ride as a free lance. Smith parted with his recent employer on the best of terms, and gave as his reason too much reducing and a lack of outside mounts. E. P. Cooney purchased at private terms Night March, which was recently claimed from C. A. Stoneham and turned him over to E. Heffner to train. F. M. Kelley will ship a division of his stable to Canada for a summer campaign. The majority of horses that raced at Brookline, Mass., during the Hunts meeting arrived at Belmont this morning. The Sagamore Stables Rock Man, which was started in the first running of the Fairmount Derby, is due at Belmont Park this afternoon. Jockey Earl Sande, who rode Haste, the winner of the Fairmount Derby, will accept mounts here Tuesday. Michael J. Keating, father of steepleĀ«-hase rider W. Keating, died at his home in Cedarhurst. Long Island, and was buried last Wednesday. James Rowe. Jr.. who was taken ill during the Pimlico meeting, made his first appearance today and will return to his duties assisting his father with the Harry Payne Whitney stable in a few days. Edward Arlington has added First Lady Harding and Forest Flower to the sale to be held on June 3 by Charles F. Hills thoroughbred sale company. The mares are both believed to be in foal to Montalvo, the sire of Tipstaff. Frank J. Bryan just back from the short Brookline meeting said that it was by long odds the best race meeting ever conducted ovef the old racing ground. Luke A. Cassidy, manager of the Marylan 1 State Fair Association at Laurel, was reminding horsemen that a declaration date of tne 0,000 Belima Stakes to be run at Laurel in the fall comes due July first. Uncle Billy CJarth arrived from Virginia and will remain for a few days racing. J. H. Stotler returned from Collinsville, where he went to saddle Rock Man in the Derby. A. G. Blakely received word that thirty horses were shipped from England on Saturday consigned to the Laurel Park Stud. They are of all ages and both flat and steeplechasers. Jockeys T. McTaggart and B. Breuning were each suspended for five days by starter Cassidy for misbehavior at the post in the first race. McTaggart had the mount on Hot Spot and Breuning on Dream Life. Joseph Georga claimed Sonny for ,000. Charles Bergman claimed Dan by for ,500. L. B. Dawn of Baltimore and M. T. Shapoff were clubhouse arrivals. Mr. Dawn will bring his horses to Empire. Sarapion was claimed by the Ranorwas Stable for ,500 after the Inion Stakes. There were three claims, but Frank Hackett won in the draw. F. M. Kelly claimed Ijn-gard for ,500. 4 _
