Lincoln Fields to Open August 9 LATONIA, Ky., June 25. — Col. M. J. Winu, vice-president and general manager of the Kentucky Jockey Club, on his arrival at Latonia this morning announced that the initial meetiug of the Lincoln Fields Jockey Club will begin on Monday. August 9, and will continue thirty days, closing on Saturday, September 11. While the work on the grandstand, clubhouse, stables and other structures is rapidly nearing completion, and will be finished by July 15, Colonel Winn stated that the Lincoln Fields track will not open until the close of the Illinois Jockey Club meeting at the Homewood track, which begins July 3 and closes August 6. Colonel Winn added that horsemen would be permitted to ship to Lincoln Fields July 15. Shipments should be booked to Lincoln Fields Station, on the C. and E. I. Railroad.
