At Fmrmount Park ItlBAN ROUGE— MARSDALE— IKK ADK1N. A test of a mile and an eighth is served as the opening attraction, and some fair performers of the plater variety are to compete. The two-time winner, KUBAN ROUGE, should be capable of running his score to three in a row in this event, providing he has retained his best form. He is strictly a distance runner and. against this com* pany. should go well. MARSI ALE won at the first asking here, but in his later starts was unable to do as well. His last out saw him taking the place behind street Uz, and he seemed to be near his best condition. He could account for. the place,, if he were to race in the same manner today. LEE A PR IN may go well enough to get the show. sii:i »lin ; mattie— tjrarleyS TONEY— All, KEN P. . The second race should prove a good spot for MEDDLING MATTIE, which races for Mrs. L. M. Holmes. She has been racing well of late and is about due to l e the one home first to greet the judges. The distance is more to her liking, and we expect her to : give a good account of herself. URADLEYS | TONEY is reported to be back in his l est form again and. if such is the case, will bear watching in the race. When fit. he can step with any of them. AIEEEN P. dopes to prove dangerous, if she races in the form she has been displaying of late. She has been most consistent, both here and at Ea-fonia, where she was shipped for a couple of races before being brought back here. FABIAN— FLAG IIF.lTEXAIfT-ARABIAW. FA P.IAN ran the race he is capable of in his last out and; if that win was no fluke, think he should be able to turn back those which he meets in the third number today over the mile and seventy yards distance. He won his race with utmost ease and. while we dont expect to see him such an easy winner today, think he should turn the trick. The one to fear in the race is FEAG LIEU-TENANT, a winner in his last three starts. He was some time in getting into condition, but at the present is in the pink. He will take plenty of beating if he races in the same style today. ARABIAN has been turning la some nice moves, ami a race back to those trials should see him e ccupying the three hole. CANDY STAR— FORENOON— SHASTA BILLET. Trainer George Walker, who is in charge of the western division of the H. T. Archibald stable, seems to have uncovered a goexl one in CANDY STAR. This filly by Sunstai merely te.yed with her opponents in her last out to win by a margin of two lengths. She stepped the five-eighths in 1 :01. good time for this course. Under the conditions, she gets in with a light impost today, and there does not seem to be anything in the race that shoulel give her any serious trouble. Bedwell had FORENOON in good condition "at Latonia and, if he rac* s as well today, may be the one to chase CANDY STAR home. It is a hard task to pass SHASTA BtHAJKT for the winner"s share of the purse, but we think he will meet up with too m;ich speed from the Archibald representative. CAPTAIN HAL— CUDGELLER— GLIDING FOX. The first running cf the Jefferson Hotel Handicap is down for eleciskm as the fifth race and as fine a field as coulel be asked for Has accepted the weight assignment. The dashing CAPTAIN HAE. which ran such a remarkable race his last time e ut is among those entered and even though he gives chunks of weight to every other starter in the race, by no figuring or reasoning can the result be any than him the winner. He is perhaps the best handicap performer in the-VVest today. CUDGEEEER has been given a special prep for this race but even with his light weight dont look for him to give, the son of Black Toney an argument. GLIDING FOX has also received a stiff training fer this race and it may be that she will be the one to run to the show. REPUTATION— GLISTER— PRESIDENT. The Harned Bros, racer, REPUTATION, is possible the best sprinter at this track and ho will be seen in action today in the Scott Field Handicap, the secondary attraction of the half holiday card. In his last out he picked up 124 pounds and ran away from bis company to win by a couple of lengths. Today he is asked to shoulder the top impost of 129 pounds and we dont think even this will prove too much for him over the three-quarters distance. GEISTER, which placed in the last race won by REPUTATION is in receipt of eighteen pounds from the latter, nine more than she received in that race, but doubt if even that difference in weight will be of any material herp to her. PRESIDENT ran a fair race at Aurora in his only start there aLnd it was one to suggest he is in form. Third shoulel be his lot. JFBAL EARLY— OYER FIRE— IRE AT LUCK. We are pie king JUBAL EARLY* to l e the winner of the concluding race on the card, over the mile and seventy yards route. He has one win to his credit here and, in his last out. saved the show behind Fabian and light Sixty. He is right on eelge at the present and, against this company, should prove best. OVER FIRE finally hit his stride and, in his last three starts, was the winner twice and third in the other. He picks up six pounds today, and we think this will bring him ba-.k to the others. GREAT EUCK, the Tijuana performer, is said to be nearing form and, if such is the case, will have to be recokened with. She should at least get the show here. One Best Bet — REPUTATION, in the Sixth Race.
