CINCINNATI TROPHY TODAY Nineteen Named for the Big Two-Year-Old Feature Down for Decision at Fair Latonia. EATONIA, Ky., June 25.— The twenty-fifth running of the ,000. added Cincinnati Trophy, at three-quarters for two-year-olds, an event which lists among its previous winners such famed ones as: Wise Counsellor, Old Bosebud, Helios, Emerson Cochrane, Hatter Cake, Miss Joy. Star V *er. Sweep Bark, and others of but little less renown, will be offered I atonia patrons tomorrow. For tomorrows running a field of nineteen was named through the entry box today, the array including all the leading youngsters of the West This is one of the largest fields in the history of the race, and with a field of fifteen starters, which seems highly probable, the race will be one of the richest. Along with the prize money, the owner of the successful horse will receive the Cincinnati Trophy, a heautiful cup provided by the Kentucky Jockey Club. With a fast track prevailing it is expected that General Haldeman, which will be coupled with Porridge, both colts being in charge of Will Perkins, is expected to prevail as public favorite. The E. B. McLean standard bearer and the B. T. Cooper youngsters are others held in high esteem. The race will mark the first over the three-quarters course for the two-year-olds here, but all have been training over the distance and are reported fit for the exacting effort. Todays cloudy weather threatens to produce a soft running surface for tomorrows racing, but there is a chance for the skies to clear and a fast track to prevail. Surrounding the feature are six other well filled and well matched fields. — »
