JUDGE MURPHY AT OMAHA Will be Presiding Steward at Ak-Sar-Ben Exposition Spring Meeting, Opening June 1. OMAHA, Neb., April 6. — Announcement has been made by the racing committe of the Ak-Sar-Ben Exposition Company that Judge Jos. A. Murphy will be the presiding steward at the spring meeting. The engagement of Judge Murphy completes the personnel of the officials for Ak-Sar-Ben. With Judge Murphy in the stand, will be the veterans N. J. Ronin. representing the Nebraska State Racing Commission, Perry Reed and J. S. Rothert. Jas. Donovan will be the starter and John Carey, racing secretary. Field superintendent Jas. R. Ronin returned Monday from Tijuana with bona fide reservations for 425 stalls. There have been approximately 200 stalls reserved for horses from New Orleans and a large number of reservations have oeen made for the meeting by western horsemen who do not campaign in the winter. They will open their spring campaign at the Ak-Sar-Ben meeting. There are a large num..er of horsemen who will ship from the Salt Lake and Aurora meetings so that it becomes necessary for the Ak-Sar-Ben organization to build additional stalls. Work is starting this week on one new barn. A new double deck, glass enclosed judges stand is also heing erected. John Carey will arrive in Omaha from New Orleans. Wednesday, April 6. so that all will be in readiness for Ak-Sar-Bens banner meeting wnich will open June 1 for twenty-nine days. *
