ENGLISH JOCKEY DEAD SPECIAL CABLEGRAM LONDON. England. April 6.— Herbert Rob-bins, the English jockey, died here yesterday. He was forty years old. Although not a fashionable rider, he was a good horseman and won a number of big races. He rode Pomme-de-Terre to victory in the Manchester Cup and November Handicap in 1920 and two years later won the Ascot Stakes. Northumberland Plate and Prince Kdward Handicap, with Double Hackle. He won the Cesarewitch and also the Irish Derby, with Furore. He won the Lincolnshire twice, first with BetuMdon in 1913, and again with Furious seven years later. Bobbins most successful season on the turf was in 1920. when he rode twenty-nine winners His death was due to tuberculosis. He had heen hopelessly ill for a long time. «
