I - LATONIA TURF NOTES ? t : ; and - LATONIA, Ky., June 18. Apprentice Tommy" Root, whose contract was purchased by Mose Goldblatt a few days ago, is scheduled to make his Latonia debut next Monday. The youngster is "corning, from Fairmount Park, where he enjoyed much success in the saddle. W. R. Sallee, this morning, disposed of tha platers Duckweed and Corposant to Mose Lowenstein at private sale. Arthur B. Hancock, prominent Kentucky-breeder, owner and a stockholder in the Kentucky Jckey Club, was a Saturday Latonia visitor. Trainer A. V. Thomas, who maintains a public stable, has taken a call on jockey R. Yelton. W. E. Smith, president of the Standard Oil Co. of Kentucky, made a trip from Louisville to witness Saturdays racing. He was accompanied by his brother, W. A. Smith and James White, the latter of New York. James Greene, well known business man and turf devotee of Louisville, was another visitor from the Falls City. The licence committee this morning granted Jockey D. Emery, a recent arrival from Canada, permission to ride.
