Crystal Pennant, winner of the Coffroth Handicap, the richest turf prize that was ever awarded a winner in a three-year-old and upward handicap race, arrived at Arlington Park Friday with four other thor- oughbreds from the R. C. Stables of Ventura, Calif. Trainer Earl Binnell, who accompanied the stable on its long and hot journey eastward, asserted that the winner of the $.12,700 Coffroth prize and the rest of the string stood the journey well, and the big son of Pennant and Crystal Isles certainly looked the part of the great stake horse he is as he was led out of his box car stall and into a more comfortable one at Arlington Park, where he will immediately start to acclimatize himself in preparation for the gruelling races to come at the big Arlington course throughout the month of June. Dr. Clark, E. B. Encino. Porter Ep and Forecaster were tin other horses in the R. C. Stable string, which is owned by Walter D. Hoffman.
