T MARYLAND TURF MOTES t * • PIMLICO, Md., May 4. There were sixty horses at the barrier this morning, among them being Mrs. J. Simpson Deans imported racer Diapson, which is being prepared for his engagements in some of the distance races to be run at Belmont Park. At the conclusion of the meeting E. Myatt will leave for Canada with the platers Tar Baby, Highland Daisy and Lady Klonora. Jockey Harry Richards has arranged to leave for Louisville Saturday night. All of the Hal Price Headley horses leave for Church!? Downs Sunday morning. The thre. -year-old j/olamile in the EL T. Archibald stable, which was cut down in his last start at Havre de Grace, is rapidly rounding to and will be galloping again in a few days. W. J. Salmons two-year-old Quarante injured his stifle during the running of the third race yesterday, which accounted for his being pulled up. Jack Pryce leaves for Woodbine Park Sunday following the close of the meeting with the horses that the Wilson-Salmon stable will campaign on the Canadian tracks this summer. The big band which W. H. W. H. Bringloe has here for the Messrs. Seagram leaves at the same time. j P. E. Fitzgerald goes from here to Fair4 mount Park with the Frank Hayes string. 1 This is-the first time that Fitzgerald has missed racing in Canada for the past twenty years. Twenty-six entries have been made in the Billy Barton Steeplechase, to be run at .Pimlico on Wednesday, next, -which calls for a test over the three-mile course. Robert Walden has six two-year-olds here this spring. He reports the arrival of sixteen foals at the Walden Farm at Middle-burg. Md., this spring. Several of the lot are said to be way above the average, both In looks and conformation.
