FAST TRIALS FOR SUBURBAN NHW YORK, May 30.— Joseph K. YVide-ners "Withers and Belmont Stakes winner of last year. Chance Shot, showed the best Suburban Handicap workout of :my of the horses that worked at Belmont Park this morning, when he galloped a mile and a quarter easily in 2 :0C. He worked swiftly and evenly all the way. The first three-quarters in 1 :12%, seven-eighths mile in 1 :25, mile in 1 :38%, one and ons-eighth miles in 1 :5l%. Chance Shot, which ran well to finish second to Ximba in the Metropolitan, in which his burden was 118 pounds, is in the Suburban Handicap under 120. Nimb.is gallop was a mile in 1:41%. George Odom did not ask better of that daughter of War Cloud, which must shoulder 120 pounds Saturday. That impost is an impost of six pounds over her Metropoli tan weight. Once last summer Odom turned Ximba loose ill work and she stepped a mile in 1 :38. She went over to Aqueduct a couple of days later and was beaten off by Sv.eepster, Kentucky II. and one or two others. Scapa Flow turned his mile and a quarter in 1 :0T%.
