| SANK AM AN ARRIVAL ♦ W. H. Hoffmans Purchase From Rancocas Stable at Arlington. » — — Seagram Stable, With Sir Harry, Young Kitty, Solace and Other Stars, Here From Canada. Sankari, brown colt, four years old, by The Finn — Cadeau, which B. L. Squires secured from the Rancocas Stable at a big figure for W. H. Hoffman, Jr., who races under the name of the R. C. Stable, arrived at Arlington Park Wednesday and was turned over to Earl Linnell, who trains for Mr. Hoffman. The colt arrived in good condition. He is engaged in both the Premier, and Turf and Field Handicaps, to be run at Arlington Park this spring. The Seagram Stable, in charge of W. H. Bringoe, reached Arlington Park late Tuesday afternoon from the Woodbine track in Toronto, Ont. The stable was headed by the good three-year-old Solace, which finished third in the Preakness Stakes, and recently scored in the Woodstock Plate, at a mile and a sixteenth, at Woodbine, The colt will be the stables representative in the American Derby. Another noted member of the stable to arrive was Young Kitty, which carried the Seagram Stable colors to victory in the Kings Plate, at the recent Woodbine meeting. Others in the shipment included Rolls Royce. Sir Harry, Gaffsman, Beamish Way and three two-year-olds that are eligible to the American National Futurity. Jockey Leslie Pichon, who recently became identified with the Seagram Stable, also arrived Tuesday night. BRADLEYS BIG BAND. The division of the Idle Hour Stock Farm Stable in charge of trainer W. H. Hurley is a recent arrival from Maryland at Arlington Park. The shipment embraced seven head of horses, and this number has been augmented in the past few days by the arrival of ten two-year-olds from Mr. Bradleys Idle Hour Stock Farm. Most of the latter are eligible to the American National Futurity, and they include Banco, Bay Beauty, Bess Cake, Botanical, Boys Preferred and Brother Bebe. Jockey J. H. Harris, under contract to the stable, is also on the scene. Jockey L. Craver will, it is said, come here from the East early next week. The Idle Hour Stock Farm Stable had the misfortune to lose a promising three-year-old maiden. Several days ago Beta Star, three-year-old filly, by North Star III.— Benanet, dropped dead from heart disease while being galloped on the Arlington Park track. The filly * as among the horses that were brought here from Pimlico. The colors of Austin H. Niblack, prominent Chicagoan and a member of the Board of Governors of the American National Jockey Club, will be seen in public at the forthcoming meeting, carried by a number of good racers that are in training at Arlington Park. The list include Sir John L., two-year-old bay colt, by Sir Johnson — Bettie Louise ; Pussen-cat, two-year-old bay filly, by Zeus— Kitty Warfield ; Mill Creek, two-year-old chestnut colt, by Sunference — Corlette, and the three-year-old Victoria. All of these two-year-olds are among the eligibles to the American National Futurity. James S. Simpson, Jr., another prominent Chicago citizen, is associated with Mr. Niblack in the ownership of these horses. G. G. Shone arrived Wednesday morning from Pimlico with his stable of seven horses, and among he number were Red Sublette and Paddy Flaherty, both eligible to the American National Premier Handicap. J. Bishop also arrived from Pimlico with two racers. TYPIIOOX IX DERBY. H. G. Bedwell has been at Arlington Park for some time with a portion of his stable, and among the better known performers in the string are Bulletin, Cudgeller, and Chairman. Ten others of the Bedwell horses now at Fairmount will join the stable at the local track next Monday. The latter will include the Kenton Farm Stables good three-year-old Typhoon, which is an intended starter in the American Derby. The four-year-old General Haldeman. likewise owned by the Kenton Farm Stable, will also be turned over to Mr. Bed-well to train after the close of the Churchill Downs meeting. Eight horses belonging to the Pueblo Stable, in charge of W. Simms. arrived Wednesday from Aurora. The stable has nine well-bred two-year-olds in training at the Lexington Ky., track .but these will not be raced until the fall meetings. The extensive Nevada Stock Farm Stable of George Wingfield is doing nicely at Arlington Park under the care of Preston Burch, who announced that all of the horses will be ready to race at the coming meeting at that track. Jim Bridger, a three-year-old, is the oldest horse in the string. The others, all two-year-olds, are Meckachie, Peter Ruff! Rush, Caravan, Woodburn, Balzar, Kulaman, Chicleight, Crucero and Rose Smith. The horses that Ward Linnell is training for the R. C. Stable of W. H. Hoffman, Jr., in addition to Sankari, are Jack Dempsey, an American Derby eligible. El Encino, Nix, Porter Up, Forecaster, the aged Dr. Clark, and Crystal Pennant, winner of the Coffroth Handicap. The Shasta Stock Farm Stable of H. D. Brown, which is in charge of W. P . Finnegan, embraces seventeen horses, of which all but three are two-year-olds. All were bred at their owners California stock farm. The star of the juveniles is Shasta Queen, a filly by Tracer — Chatterbox, a half sister to Shasta Gold. This filly will be the stables main reliance in the American National Futurity. H. Philpot, under contract to the stable, is keeping in good riding form by assisting in the work of galloping the stables horses each morning. Charles M. Waite, inventor of the starting gate that is now being used at the Fair-mount Park meeting, was among the visitors at Arlington Park Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Waite is well satisfied with the success that has attended the use of his gate. He will have charge of the approximate odds and pay off board at the Arlington Park meeting.
