I CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES t $ $ LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 30. Junius W. Bell, local sportsman, whose colors were carried by Sir Peter, Lucky Drift and other horses, today acquired by private purchase from J. B. Respess the three-year-old filly La Petite. She has been turned over to Bob Frakes to train. The stable of .T. M. Hukill, embracing a score of useful performers, departed today for Latonia. The stables of J. Walters and C. N. Lewis are among those scheduled for early shipment to the Covington track. Three cars will be required to transfer the extensive and pretentious Audley Farm Stable from here to Latonia. Trainer Kay Siience will send two cars Friday night and the remaining car will get away Sunday. One car of the Three Ds Stock Farm horses go to Arlington Park Thursday night and the remainder of the stable in another car next Sunday. Trainer C. E. Durnell will motor to Chicago Sunday, accompanied by Mrs. Durnell and Fred Hood, business manager of the stable. R. L. Rogers will ship ten horses to Arlington Park Friday. Stuyvesant Peabody, president of the Illinois Turf Association and Lincoln Fields, accompanied by Mrs. Peabody, arrived from Chicago this morning. They will motor to St. Louis to see their colors carried by Martie Flynn in the Fairmount Derby and then return to Chicago. Pink Lily, William Dupont, Jrs. Kentucky Oaks candidate, worked a mile and an eighth over the Douglas Park track this morning in 1 :58. She was timed in :26 for the quarter, :51 for the half mile, 1 :20% for the three-quarters and in 1 :45 for the mile. P. L. Rogers, acting for H. L. Crain, has purchased from Dr. R. L. Woodard a yearling bay filly by White Satin — Miss Roland. The thirty horses that Jake Lowenstein is training will be shipped to Arlington Park Thursday night. The fillies Divorcee and Taloha, owned by Cunningham and Ott, are to be retired from racing and bred to Omond. Ten horses, the property of various owners, make up the band that A. H. Lewis will race through the coming Latonia meeting. Joe Tighe is expected to take over the training of the Paradise Stock Farm horses, as well as those of the Huntingdon Stable. The latter stable includes the good performer | Tempest.
