HERTZ EXPRESSES REGRETS NEW YORK, N. Y., May 30.— Joseph E. Widener. president of the Westchester Racing Association, had a personal message from John Hertz yesterday, expressing his keen regret that the failure of Reigh Count to train for ten days after his Kentucky Derby victory make that colts participation in the Belmont Stakes impossible. Mr. Hertz said in this wire that infection had followed the infliction of wounds, that appeared at first to be superficial, by Anita Teabody in work and some other Derby contestant. He said further that he hoped to have Reigh Count at Belmont Park in the fall for the revival of the Lawrence Realization and the Jockey Club Gold Cup. Mr. Widener replied with a message of condolence, in which he expressed the hope that the recovery of Reigh Count would be quick and complete. *
